Your guide collects you from the hotel lobby and you head out to Cu Chi, roughly 90 minutes from central Ho Chi Minh City.

Cu Chi Tunnels • Welcome & History

A short introduction followed by a documentary on how the tunnels were built and the survival strategies used during the war.

Underground at Cu Chi

~1.5 hrs on site

Explore the remaining tunnel system — underground living quarters, kitchens, storage rooms, weapons workshops, field hospitals and command centers. Discover hidden trapdoors and defensive traps, and experience the maze-like structure of this historic site. The tunnel crawl is optional throughout.

Guerrilla Tea Break

Enjoy traditional tea and boiled cassava — the staple foods of the guerrilla fighters who once lived in these tunnels.

Lunch • Local Restaurant

A set-menu lunch at a local restaurant before heading south towards the Mekong Delta.

Onward to the Mekong Delta

~1.5 hrs drive

Depart Cu Chi and travel to My Tho, gateway to the Mekong Delta.

Mekong Motorboat Cruise

~45 mins

Board a local motorboat for a scenic cruise along Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Turtle Islands, stopping at the well-known Unicorn Island.

Village Life & the Coconut Canal

~1 hr

Visit a local beekeeping farm to learn about natural honey production and enjoy tastings of honey tea, rice wine and banana wine. Take a peaceful walk through the village, then a rowing boat ride along a water coconut canal — perfect for photography and a glimpse of local life.

Coconut Candy & Tropical Fruit Garden

Stop at a handmade coconut candy workshop in Ben Tre Province to watch the traditional candy-making process, then visit a tropical fruit garden for fresh seasonal fruit while listening to traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City

Return to My Tho by motorboat, then a comfortable private car back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop-off at your hotel.

This is a long day — approximately 12.5 hours door-to-door. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
The tunnel crawl at Cu Chi is optional — the passages are narrow (70 cm wide, 80 cm tall). You’re welcome to explore the jungle surface instead.
Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses) — the Mekong Delta boat rides are outdoors.
Motorboats can be a little bumpy; if you’re prone to motion sickness, consider bringing medication.
Dietary needs at lunch and tastings can be accommodated — let us know when you book.
